Fuck Double Booking
So far booking your own tour only two months before your projected tour dates is quite frustrating, especially when your band is unknown to a new city! But we were patient (as much as we could be) and finally got most of our tour booked. We'll be playing two shows in Houston, one of those is a day show called Secret Shows (it's a secret you'll have to ask us) Sunday Aug. 3rd and then that same night at Notsuoh. But our tour kicks off in Laredo at the Cold Brew. And we'll end up after Houston in Dallas and then back to Austin at the Beauty Bar and hopefully San Marcos, then back home in San Antonio at LoneStar Art Studios near south town. One of the venues when in the process of booking our tour almost ended up not happening because, of a double booking! I hate it when that happens. I can't say anything bad about the club because it's a great club and plus friend's of ours helped us get that show, and we're appreciative of them and the club getting the show. But I do hope double bookings are few and far between. nevertheless we got the show anyway as planned. Here is a link in Houston Press about the Houston music scene, It mentions two of the venues that we'll be playing on our tour in Houston as well as the secret show at Shady Tavern we'll be playing during the day. http://www.houstonpress.com/2008-06-26/music/ten-things-i-love-about-the-houston-music-scene/

Self-Reflection
Waiting to pick up some flyers to promote our show next weekend at Rock Bottom, July 26th, I started reading one of those self-help books, "How to Win Friends and Influence People" reminiscent of my childhood, my dad used to read it. There was a chapter in the book about criticism, and how it only hold you back and does not push you forward. Maybe, I'm thinking that's one of the most significant things I've read in a long time. So, I think from now on I should promise myself not to be so hard on myself, something I've been really bad at a lot but getting better at over I would say the past five years. Then I started thinking about playing music in the band, and how sometimes things seem to be progressing not as quickly as I would like for everything to be progressing. not putting blame on anyone, it's just the way things have been working out. I would like to write more songs, faster, and better. I would like to do another tour, farther and longer. I would like to play guitar faster and better, sing live, more comfortably and, better. Thrn it dawned on me that this tour coming up, even though only a week long, with ledaswan, is exciting and scary. I'm not sure how we'll all get along together, I guess it might be a test of our friendship as a band. So that's scary. but anyway, I think I'll just try to enjoy it for what it is in its all innocence, and fantasy.
Behind Schedule
So last night's show at G.I.G. went pretty well, despite the fact that we only literally had a handful of people, it's partly our fault because we neglected to promote the show with all of the touring stuff going on..... However, we did catch the attention of one passer by who stopped in his tracks on his way to Salute Bar and paid the $3.00 to come in and see us play. He said he was from the Bay Area in California and could help us get some shows there when we are ready to head to the West Coast. He also talked about some independent radio stations he had connections with and Latino TV shows where we could get some of our vids played in the Bay Area. I guess it just goes to show that every show counts, no matter how many people are there, or how little, you never know who might be walking by and catch their ear. We'll let you know about any developments about Ledaswan on the Bay Area airwaves.
Food for Thought?
Why do we create music? Is it for fun? Or is it because we want to make some sort of change? Personally, and I'm not speaking on behalf of the whole of Ledaswan, but it's for the latter.

Our show and New-Old Beginnings
Lately at practice, we have been conjuring up songs from our 1st E.P. (E.P. extended play; more than a single but not as long as an album) I digress....the E.P. our first one, "How to Rearrange the World in 7 Days," so we'll be throwing some older tunes (old to us) but new to those audiences that are seeing us for the first time. On the list of new-old songs "Heart In Two," "Learning to Breathe," "Over Again," and "Discover" All of the above were written and recorded all acoustically in 2004 right before Ledaswan formed which you can find on Garageband (well you can fine Learning to Breathe and Over Again floating around on Garageband.Com here is the link tell us what you think: http://www.garageband.com/song?|pe1|S8LTM0LdsaSnZFm1ZWo
I think I might post some more links to older acoustic demos soon. stay tuned. Oh yes we have a show tonight at GIG 2803 N. St. Mary's hope to see some new and friendly faces.

On our way to Houston
Ledaswan in Houston
Last night was a great show at Soho. Broke out some of our older songs
and they sounded like we never stopped playing them. Was lot of fun
for us. Today we play The Mink in Houston with The Mckenzies. Really
looking forward to this show but I hate driving in Houston. Everyone
drives at least 100mph. Ok maybe I am exaggerating bit they drive
pretty fast

New Site...new mission...the tour
We were supposed to try to see about building a new website a while back. I was going to at least. We were also going to try to get a new record done by summer. We've been playing so much that it hasn't happend. So, I finally just cracked down and started working on the new site. Still some more tweaking and new content to add. I've been adding new video from every show to the old diary page. We will continue doing this but it will now be on the videos page. I have also added pictures from the Scout Bar show, which was amazing. Thanks to everyone who came to see us.

We will be playing in Houston this weekend with The McKenzies at The Mink. Tell all your friends that live in Houston to come and check it out. You will be able to see The McKenzies on July 26th at Rock Bottom playing with us, Druggist and De Los Muertos.
So, we have been also busy booking a tour. Definitely not as easy as I thought. Girl in A Coma did lend a little help with contacts. Thanks to them. We are finally ironing out most of the final details. It will be a Texas Tour for 8 days. You can check our shows page for an updated list of the tour dates. More news to come...
