Weekends are for rocking!!!

The last time I played the Rabbit was for Jason's tribute. We did a acoustic show. The last time I played the Rabbit with a full band was...well I can't really remember. It was with FIN sometime ago. Well, Ledaswan played at the Rabbit for the first time. It was definitely a little weird. But we had a lot of fun. They had taken the drum riser so Delrick had to set up on the floor which gave us no space on the stage. We were as tight as always and we seemed to have made some new fans.

Saturday was a day for relaxing. "Lets go to La Cantera" says Erica. Sure. I step into the Apple Store and see the computers loaded with Leopard and I start to get curious. I told myself I would wait. I play with it for 5 mins and I gotta have it. Spaces is the coolest feature. Stacks is great. I bought a 5 license family pack. We only needed 2 but they sell it in 1 or 5. I'm giving one to my sister. Who else wants to buy a copy from me?

Napoleon's new nickname is now "rocky" since he got in a fight outside and got his ass whooped.
He will be back for the rematch to kick as just like stallone did.

We are finished with the mixing. We are only waiting on the mastering now. We renamed Fancy song to "Bruise by Default" and Stupid Person to "The Art of Goodbye". We will be finishing the artwork this week also. It is right around the corner. We should hopefully have mentions in the SA Current and the article in the Edge Magazine.

Alefest!!!

When I first interviewed at the Current they told me they were having an event soon called Alefest. They said there would be lots of music and beer. I thought to myself "Do I want to work somewhere where theres music and beer?" Of course the answer was a big "Yes". Its happening tomorrow. I can't wait. They have over 50 different kinds of beer. And with paid entrance you get 15 free beers. I don't think I can drink that many, but I'm excited about trying different brews. I hope Alamo beer is there cause that's my favorite right now. Jut have to remember to not drink too much cause I still have to play later on that night at DIY Factory. Should be fun.

On a different note, something weird. I love Starbucks but felt a little uncomfortable today. We went to Starbucks on Broadway and we were going to hang up a poster for our cd release. Erica said they had a bulletin board there and they allowed you to post these. Cool. So we went and it was full but we saw a poster for the MS150 that happens tomorrow so we removed that one to make room for ours. All of a suddent this worker there runs over and snatches the MS 150 poster out of Erica's hands and asks what we are doing. We tell him we are putting up a poster for our cd release. He asked if it was approved by the manager. We say we had hung these up here before. He stated the board was only for non profit organizations. I said "well we are in a band and we don't make any profit". He said ok then. We were confused. We asked if they wanted us to take it down and he said no to just leave it. But I got a really weird vibe from him then. I wonder if they trashed it after we left. I hope not, those posters are expensive.

So many things happening in one saturday

Well tomorrow is The San Antonio Current's Alefest. A celebration of beer. That is such a beautiful thing. I hope to see many of you out there drinking it up. Lots of good beer. You get 15 beers with your entry fee. I have never in one day drank 15 beers, so that sounds like a lot to me.
Saturday night Ledaswan will be playing at The Venue for the DIY Factory event. There will be lots of arts and crafts, fashion shows and music from what I hear. We go on at 11pm. Try to come out. It's only $5 which is a steal for that much entertainment.
One last thing. If you see Colton (from Panic Division) anytime on Saturday, make sure and say happy birthday. Hopefully we will all party later on that night and get him as shitfaced as he got last night at the Limelight. He will be 62.

Moth In Cairo Sessions

Tonight David and I Started laying down guitars for the new Moth In Cairo songs. We had decided since we dont have a bassist or vocalist to work on these songs slowly. Aaron had already laid down drum tracks for 3 songs. The drum tracks are near perfect. I have never heard anyone play to a click and be so completely on. He recorded them all on his own with just a click to accompany him. So the songs are completely on time. Nice! Well we had not played these songs for a while so we were a little rusty. But good things come from that. We actually wrote new parts to the song that actually make it sound even better. The one song we worked on tonight is coming together real well and I can't wait to hear what it will sound like finished. Very big guitars and drums, and hopefully soon...vocals. We have a friend that lives far from here wanting to collaborate on these with us. I am hoping this will work since I believe these songs have a need to be heard.
On another subject...still waiting for the second set of mixes for Ledaswan. We sent all our notes on the first batch. They already sounded great...just tweaks that need to be made. I am amazed at the quality of the recordings that we were able to record ourselves. Nov 16 is coming around real fast so hopefully we get these soon so we can get the cd to get printed.
I am writing these posts and the new website isnt really live yet where this will be seen. It's almost done. I will have it up by the end of the week hopefully.

New Job...finally!!!

Most of you that know me know that I recently graduated from the Art Institute. It seemed to take forever, but I finally graduated in June. It was time to hit the job market...really hard. Interview, after interview ( or no interview...don't know which was worse.) Finally I have landed at The San Antonio Current. I am their Web Administrator/IT person. This is probably the greatest job I have ever had. I learn so much everyday and nobody is watching to make sure I am here right on time (as some of you may know I tend to sometimes be late). I've been here a month and have already gone on a business trip to Baltimore, WA. I used to book these when I worked at American Express Travel and now I am the one doing the travelling. Not bad, heh? Well I have redesigned this site: Airport Goodbye. I am looking to take on projects for web or music recording. If you are needing any of these services please fill out the form under contact and I will get back to you. I will be writing here periodically so please feel free to visit and see what is going on with me.
